* SPOILER ALERT *
We start the next book in this series aboard the Typhon where the Brother's Wrathe are making up for years of fighting and spending a little "family time" together. They are interrupted by a new character Lady Lockwood who is a... Vampirate!?

Lady Lockwood is the founder of the Black Heart Winery... her girls find "donors" and harvest their blood and stores it for drinking later. None of her "donors" are willing but she finds the whole hunting and biting for blood barbaric so she came up with a "classier" version.

Meanwhile Grace and Connor are still at the Sanctuary. In the last book, their mother was alive! Now they are waiting to talk to her. Connor decides he doesn't want to hear this so he leaves. 

But Grace has a gift. By holding her mother's hand she can read her thoughts and see her memories. She finds out that her mother was a donor and she is half-vampirate! Which is a dhamphir - a special kind of vampire with special powers.

WHAT??! Really!? 

Sally was a donor to  Sidorio. Yes... evil Sidorio but he was in love with Sally (the mom) but she was in love with the twins father. Their father, Dexter, was a Vampirate? It couldn't be true. It just didn't make sense but it had to be... 

Stuckely and Johnny keep running into Ladylock's girls who are feasting before they arrive and leaving Sidorio's crew hungry but drugging Stuckely and Johnny. Lady Lockwood is attempting to gain Sidorio's attention and she does!

Sidorio confronts her... with her sassy evil ways she wraps him around her finger. The duo fall in love and start planning their wedding. YUCK! 

Connor leaves the service of Captain Wrather and joins Cheng Li as she is now the captain of her own ship. Together with Jacoby (her deputy) and Jasmine they set sail to rid the world of Sidorio and his crew.

Lorcan tells Grace the story of her birth and creation but stops short. If Dexter wasn't a vampirate then that must mean Lorcan is Grace's father! No... I won't believe it. You can't make me!

Grace runs to Mosh Zu and demands an answer. Who is my dad? We find out that Sally asked for and was given permission to leave the ship and marry Dexter! But Sidorio did not take the news well. He drugged Sally, hired a Priestess, and had a pregnancy spell cast so they would never part. 

Sidorio is her father! REALLY?? This can't be true! No wonder Connor ran away. I wouldn't want to hear this either!

Sally promised to one day join Dexter at the Lighthouse so Grace takes her mother home. Lorcan brought the twins here to Dexter for safe keeping. Every night her father stared out into the ocean watching and waiting for his beloveds return so they could finally be a family. At the grave, their spirits are reunited at last. 

Cheng Li and her crew crass the evil wedding and chop off the brides head. They leave Sidorio stunned on the beach holding the head of his decapitated wife and watching the son he had been searching for steal of into the night.


My Opinion
I think I broke my pattern of sharing my opinion here as you read it above. I am really enjoying this serious. It offers a little bit of something for everyone. Adventure, mystery, intrigue, romance... what will happen next?
